About

Filippo Galbo

Clinical scientist, molecular technologist, software builder, and Recombinase artist based in Denver.

I have worked across clinical genomics, molecular pathology, assay validation, high-throughput testing, laboratory operations, and scientific documentation.

I build software and AI-assisted workflows around the places where laboratory work becomes difficult to operate, review, or explain. My current work includes supervised desktop automation, NGS planning software, bioinformatics tools, and local AI systems.

Recombinase is the same practice applied to music, moving image, generative media, and code-based art.

Experience

Laboratory and research environments

Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center

Medical Technologist - Microbiology and Molecular Biology Laboratories

Federal clinical laboratory work across microbiology and molecular biology, with routine PCR diagnostics, women's health testing, serology, and Genexus-based DNA/RNA sequencing.

Elevation Diagnostics

Clinical Laboratory Scientist IV - Lead Research and Development Scientist

Validation-minded R&D leadership for high-throughput SARS-CoV-2 testing, workflow documentation, and cross-functional assay development support.

Summit Biolabs

Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist - R&D Lead, Liquid Biopsy Laboratory

Founding-stage CLIA startup work under pandemic pressure, combining assay development, team leadership, training, regulatory writing, and extraction-free high-throughput RT-qPCR systems.

Kirby Medical Center

Medical Technologist - Generalist, Department of Laboratory Services

Small-hospital generalist practice covering broad bench work, patient-facing testing logistics, rural COVID response, and independent workflow ownership.

University of Chicago Medicine

Molecular Genomics Technologist, Department of Genomic and Molecular Pathology

Clinical molecular pathology and genomics work centered on hybridization-capture and amplicon NGS, qPCR, assay development, manuscript support, and real molecular oncology operations.
